ABOUT THE EVENT

Eli Marcus Tour Inspires Chabad Houses Before the High Holidays

Eli Marcus hit the road for his Elul Tour in the days leading up to Rosh Hashana, bringing music and inspiration to eight cities around the United States.

Music has a way of impacting people in the deepest and most profound way. In large frum communities, there are plenty of Kumzitzes and similar types of events to help inspire yidden in anticipation of the yomim noraim. But high quality music is not something that is always accessible to out-of-town chabad houses and communities.

That is what led Eli Marcus to take on his Elul Tour, produced by SING Entertainment, which took him to cities as far as El Paso, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee. The show was a blend of a project Eli calls “Song of Our Heritage” which goes through Jewish classics such as Adon Olam, Oseh Shalom Bimromav, Hinei Ma Tov and the like, and iconic selections from from Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur davening such as Avinu Malkeinu. Eli spent time preparing moving stories and powerful messages to intersperse between the songs, delivering a truly moving pre-High Holiday show. “It was a real highlight to experience so many different Chabad houses night after night, and to see the mesiras nefesh of these incredible Shluchim” Eli shared with COLlive.

The tour began in Fairfield, Connecticut before heading south to Houston and Dallas, Texas. Eli and Gershon then flew to Ann Arbor, Michigan, and continued on to Memphis, El Paso, Phoenix and capped off the tour in North Hollywood, California.

The tour was directed by Chaim Zippel, with music led by musical director Gershon Freishtat.
